This is Why You Don't Mess With Sunny Garcia

Sunny Garcia as well as Jeremy Flores are disqualified from the QS Burleigh Breaka Pro after an altercation with a local last week. The local supposedly slapped Garcia's son, not realizing that he was messing with one of the bigger guys in the surfing world. I'm not really sure how Flores fits into all of this but I guess his fight took place before the cameras started rolling.

Drive Thru

I know I have been doing a lot of movie reviews lately but I feel like it is a must that I review Drive Thru. Since the day I started surfing, the Drive Thru series has been my absolute favorite. The funniest people in the sport are thrown in an RV for two weeks and the resulting footage is something even those who never watch surf movies love. Combining sick surfing footage with a hint of jackass makes the perfect movie. The entire box set is only 50 bucks which in my opinion is a steal. I bought it the second I saw it and have not regretted it.

Chippa Wilson

    Chippa Wilson is on the forefront of the new movement in surfing. If your looking for plenty of air reverses, and tricks that you and I could never hope to land in our lifetime, then watch this movie.

Dane out of Snappers contest?

 Dane Reynolds has just undergone knee surgery that will have him out of the water for 6 weeks. Reynolds tore a few ligaments in his knee before the pipe masters but still managed to pull a third place finish in the event. The injury however has become too much and he opted for surgery. He most likely will not recover before the snappers contest and will have an auspicious start to a seemingly promising year.

Gear Review

 

When I first bought this stuff I thought it was awsome. Colored wax is a cool new idea that definately caught my attention. After I put the green wax on my board however I realized how wrong I was. Instead of looking cool, it looked like the incredible hulk had just blown a load on my board. I would stick to the basics and say stay away from dayglow unless you want to get creative and do some sort of wax mural on your board.

Tribute

First and foremost, I have to pay tribute to my favorite surfer since I started following the sport. Andy your the man, your style, fluidity, and raw talent will never be matched or forgotten.
